I really do get sad when i see that Maya is growing up sooooo fast. I mean the other day we where practicing letters,numbers and shapes and she knew everything! When Impoined to the boat, I expected to hear ‘boat’, not ‘Sailboat!’. In addition to this, she dles so many new things…it is hard for us to catchnup. For instance, now she is really good at discerning situations and using the corrdct langusge to repond. I was in the car and sneezes she said ‘Blesss you daddy!’. I can’t lie that really made my day! She knows almost all of her colors orange, red,green, purple, white and yellow. She lalso knows many animals and shapes now to. So, for us all is well.

This Christmas, Maya got a battery operated car and a kitchen. The car? Needs some getting use to… The kitchen? She loves it! So, life in the world of Miss Maya Brown has been good…she is learning that her feelings will get hurt whrn she does bad…but between hope andmlove she will lesrn confidence. In the land of Maya the world gets more interesting each and every day. So, what has Maya been up to? Being as curious and mischief as she can be! Currently, she is learning how to be an artist…when I say that I mean that she takes markers and crayons and draws on everything in the house….walls, the hardwood floors, the television, clothes, chairs….everything! Research says that you should let children explore that talents….I want to tell research to provide some answers as to who is going t pay to clean all of this stuff up?

Also, the picture that you see above is from Maya’s two-year old party…it was a blast! I know Maya had fun…but her daddy? Had even more fun! It was absolutely great. Hmmm…let me see she is also doing well in school…learning some colors…knows how to count well, learning some songs, learning to sharee…shes just learning so much that it is great. Speaking of learning…I would love to get Maya this new gadget that has come out for kids….it is called the Nabi tablet 9http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2011/11/nabi-tablet/) the only problem is that it is sold out three weeks before it is even available? Arrggghhhhhhh. I really do hope to get Maya hip to technology, quick. like her dad. By the time she gets older…if she doesn’t….she will be all behind and that is a definite NO NO!!!!!!

So, we shall see…until next time…do like Maya and continue to experience life in the way that children do…with gladness.

Introducing the 2 year old Maya

Since I just typed this blog and somehow it erased itself…let me see if I can recall my thoughts…oh yeah Maya!

For a while, I dreaded that ‘terrible 2′ stage. Then the day came a calm, sunny day in 2011 and she did it…she turned 2. Then I realized, Maya had many times before then that she was terrible and I am sure that there are many more to come! So, this stage is not really phasing me as much as the hype did. Now, what I am impressed by at this stage is her vocabulary…I mean she has words coming from everywhere! My friend Kerri warns us that soon she will start spelling out stuff to you….hmmmmmm..I don’t know if I am ready right now…but soon I will. Besides that? Maya is coming into her own. Maya has lots of her daddy in her and much of her momma…it’s just weird to see how both personalities play out at various times….if you would like to see….continue to watch the videos.

Daddy’s Birthday

Today is the day in which Maya’s Dad has reached the over 30 mark. Maya didn’t seem to care to much for me today at all. I was really wanting to see her and she just really didn’t care to see me to much at all! Anyhow, here development is wonderful. Maya knows songs that we didn’t even know that she was aware of. She is very capable of identifying what she wants to eat and watch by saying names like ‘Chips’ ‘Pop-pop’ or ‘Dora’. Overall, we are very proud of her achievement and I am so happy to see how well she is progressing. In just a few days, we will be celebrating two years of life with her…it will certainly be a grand affair.

You can learn a lot from a kid…so buckle your safety belt.

Our baby, the love of our life is growing growing growing…learning things that we teach her and others that she just absorbs herself??!?!!?!? Maya is now up to about 50 words or more. She can recognize, problem solve a little, and remember very well. Maya can remember locations…for instance while riding in the car she can tell when she is at her school, she kinda of recognizes her mommy and daddies vehicles and she also can clearly distinguish between her family (Daddy,Momma, Grandma’s,tete and granddaddy). Maya started her first day of school last week. It was kind of hard for her…but not really. Her first teacher’s name is Ms.Dororty in Pre K-2. Maya seems to be doing very well and learning a lot as well. We shall see how this venture goes.

In other news, Maya is well…teaching us things as well like learning how to cry for a while and then laugh and be happy, how to be carefree, how not judge and that learning is constant no matter what age. Kids are so special and miraculous even though they may seem to be so worry some at times. I think the biggest thing for Bridget and I is that Maya provides us comfort. It is really rewarding to see a product of our love to bring us so much love and with that I close and say thanks God!

Our baby is growing by leaps and bounds

Today marks another milestone in the history of our child. Since the last blog Maya has shown to her mom,dad and everyone else what she is really made of. Maya is making some notable achievements in seversl areas. Some orf her greatest acheivements:

She can now halfway ride her bike
She can also say a portion of her abc’s by herself
She also knows how to tell you that she wants something out of the refridgerator, often times ths is a popsicle
She has learned to babel much more know….the next step is for her to start talking
She also is much mor socialble withnm people. I think this is mostly from her pdo experience.

This summer we hae explored a couple of new things, some of them include her swimming more often, reading mor often and alsonlearning how to usenthe iPad.

So, there it is in a short form the development of my princess Maya Brown.

Maya’s is growing up fast!

It’s really interesting to watch a child grow. It’s interesting to see how they discover, how they learn and how they respond. Maya has learned many things since our last blog. Well maybe she has always known things…her parents and family are just now figuring out that she knows this. For instance, she has now learned to say “Nooooooooo”. Maya you want some thing to eat? “Nooooooooooo”. Give me that back! “Nooooooooooooooo”. Ready to go to bed? “Nnnooooooooooo”. Want a bottle? “Nooooooooooo”. So , as you can see it is not in the correct context…never the less, it’s a step towards progress. In addition to this, she now recognizes her name and responds to it very well. She can also answer questions like where is mama? where is dada? where is tete? Where is grandma? When I say answer…I mean she can identify all of these people. Hmmm… let see…every once in a while…if you listen very closely you will hear Maya singing her ABC’s “ABCDEFHJJKKKKZ!”. As I said earlier…its a start.

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”
